The warmth of the office is an indication of Dr. Fernald's desire to make office visits less intimidating and far more productive. Along with tackling the emotional and psychological issues confronting your child, we work with them by coaching healthy lifestyles that lead to overall wellness and higher self-esteem. Parenting is difficult, and parenting a child with emotional problems is even more so. We provide help for the child and support for the parents.

    Working closely with Doreen A. Zaborac & Associates of Tinley Park, we have designed a range of programs and services that address the emotional and psychological health of the entire family. We are dedicated to providing a comfortable environment for families to share experiences and find new ways of coping with a variety of issues. One tool that we have developed is an expressive art group, where children can learn to cope with their problems in a productive way using the medium of art.

    Dr. Fernald is accepting patients now. Most insurance plans are accepted. One of our two sites, Doreen A. Zaborac and Assoc. can also accommodate patients with a sliding scale based upon income and level of insurance coverage. Life changing events such as stress within a marriage, divorce, the death of a loved one, job loss, bullying, and an endless list of chance events, can cause a child or teenager to develop significant emotional difficulties. Often, speaking with a friend, loved one or member of the clergy does not make these negative feelings diminish. Fortunately, Dr. Jorge Fernald, M.D. of Tinley Park and Palos Heights, is a psychiatrist who (through individual or family counseling or medication management) can help your child in overcoming these issues and regain a positive state of emotional health. Dr. Fernald is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and has focused his practice on child and adolescent psychology.

He has great experience in helping children and adolescents. Children he sees are often in need of ADHD treatment. Children with ADHD often have other conditions that need to be addressed.

With Dr. Fernald's compassionate treatment they return to the feeling of wellness that all children deserve. Dr. Fernald has been seeing Illinois patients since 1997. During that time he has engaged in family counseling, treated patients with depression, anxiety and other mood disorders that disturbed their life.
